Three-Year Partnership to Enhance Event Accessibility and Champion LGBTQ+ Inclusion Across the Broadcast Industry
London, 12 June 2025 — EMG / Gravity Media is proud to announce a new three-year partnership with Pride in London, becoming the official Broadcast Partner for one of the world’s most significant celebrations of LGBTQ+ communities.
As part of this multi-year deal, EMG / Gravity Media will deliver full-scale Live broadcast coverage of Pride in London, capturing the energy, diversity and spirit of the parade and associated events for audiences across the UK and beyond. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to making Pride in London more accessible than ever before — both for those attending in person and for those celebrating remotely.
The collaboration also goes far beyond broadcast. It represents a powerful statement of intent to champion equality, inclusion and representation across the media landscape. As part of the agreement, EMG / Gravity Media will actively promote and support LGBTQ+ staff, freelancers and suppliers, reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive working environment.

Jamie Hindhaugh, Regional CEO of EMG / Gravity Media, said:
“Pride in London is a landmark moment on the cultural calendar, and we’re honoured to play a role in bringing its message to the widest possible audience. This partnership is also a vital opportunity for us to stand up for inclusion and to celebrate the LGBTQ+ members of our community who help drive our industry forward.”
Christopher Joell-Deshields, CEO of Pride in London, said:
“We’re thrilled to welcome EMG / Gravity Media as our official Broadcast Partner. Their expertise in delivering world-class content, combined with their proactive commitment to diversity and inclusion, makes them a perfect partner as we continue to grow and evolve Pride in London.”
The 2025 event will build on the coverage EMG / Gravity Media delivered in 2024 and mark the beginning of this groundbreaking partnership, with live and on-demand content made widely available across digital platforms including YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, allowing audiences everywhere to join in the celebration, no matter where they are.
James Poole, Pride Project Lead at EMG / Gravity Media, added:
“We are absolutely delighted to announce this partnership with Pride in London and to work together to achieve the goal of making the event more accessible than ever. In 2024 working with our partners, we were able to introduce innovations like Live Subtitling for the first time, and we are looking forward to announcing details of this year’s coverage which is even more ambitious, very soon.”

Naar jaarlijkse gewoonte stond het team van EMG Belgium weer aan de startlijn op de Antwerp 10 Miles. Het was alweer een geweldige editie met een stralende zon. Herbeleef het met de aftermovie van Motionmakers!
Jacob Bailey, EMG Camera Operator and Guarantee, explains his role on the bike coverage of the London Marathon
I joined EMG eight years ago starting out on the Technical Assistant training scheme. I learnt to fibre splice which gave me the opportunity to go out on jobs, fibre splice during the rig and then assist the camera department during the TX. I initially started working on the Match of the Day contract working on the various camera positions for the coverage. Since then I’ve worked on a large variety of jobs; from Test Match Cricket to The Open Golf to festivals and awards shows.
EMG have delivered the OB coverage of the Marathon since 2014. It’s a huge delivery with essentially 5 OB sites, 200 crew, specialist cameras and lots of RF! Early on, when I joined the camera department, I assisted on the finish of the Marathon and was given the chance to be involved in the relief crew. A few years later, in 2018, I worked at the unusual setting for the start of the race at Windsor Castle. That year the Queen was the official starter for the race, pressing the start button within the grounds of the Castle.
2022 was my first year on the bikes. At the time, our Director of Operations, Dave White, was head of the camera department and approached me with the opportunity to work on the bike coverage. He asked if I’d be happy if my name was chucked into the hat to be considered. Fortunately for me I was accepted to be one of the camera operators on the bikes and this year, six months after the last London Marathon, I was given the opportunity again.

I have a passion for bikes which began at an early age and have competed in a variety of disciplines. I’ve recently started racing Flat Track, competing in the DTRA UK national series. Races predominantly take place on speedway track but there’s some use of larger horse racing tracks and TT courses. Compared to Speedway, flat track bikes use just a rear brake competing in heat races made up of 12 riders consisting of 8 laps which leads to a main final of 15 laps. I completed my first season last year and have just started this year’s racing hoping to carry on learning and reach that top step of the podium and the taste of champagne!
Having had my first chance of operating on the bikes in October 2022, it was great to go into this year with some experience and knowing what to expect. Even so, the challenges are still there. Operating in a helmet causes awkward head angles to be able to view comfortably in the monocular. For April’s Marathon we were provided with an adaptor to extend the mounting. To be able to cope with the uneven surface and the bumps along the course we use a stabilized lens to ensure a smoother shot. Again, thanks to the experience I gained in 2022 I was more confident and comfortable plus it gave me the opportunity to experiment a little with different camera positions such as holding the camera low off the bike.

This year I was assigned to the women’s Elite Race, meaning I would be facing backwards on the bike to the direction of travel. The only chance we have to practice is when we do a recce of the route on the Saturday before the Marathon. As the course is still live roads at this point practicing facing backwards means we get some odd looks from the public!
Media Motos provide the bikes for the Marathon with EMG Connectivity providing the links. A good rapport with the pilot of the bike is key to providing smooth and varied coverage. During the race the bike pilot will give me updates on what obstacles, road furniture, sharp turns and roundabouts are approaching. I in turn give updates on what action is happing within the race, if I’m wanting a particular shot I will communicate with the pilot so that he’s able to manoeuvre the bike and ourselves into position. It’s definitely a working partnership and my thanks go to the Media Motos team for all their help during the event. I’m looking forward to the next one and to completing my second season racing Flat Track!

2. What motivates you at work?
The variety of projects, the constantly evolving technology and working with the best people in media production
3. A tip for someone starting out in the broadcast / tech industry?
Microphones are ALWAYS live.
4. Favourite sport / team / film / tv programme? It doesn’t matter if it is Super Bowl or Bog Snorkelling, any sport played at a high level/ Sydney Roosters NRL team/Repo Man/Curb Your Enthusiasm (in particular, the episode with Michael J Fox)
5. What makes great live TV? With a live sport telecast, capturing the story and emotion of the event. Not just with the vision, but also with the many other elements including the commentary, graphics, audio and pre-produced inserts. Plus, you get a very important bonus, as with a musical telecast…. You get the best seat in the house
1. What is your favourite part / proudest moment at Gravity Media?
My favourite aspect of life at Gravity Media is the fantastic team environment. Once a project has landed, the team jump in and works together to craft and create world-class production and content.
2. What motivates you at work?
Teamwork! I have always loved being involved in the production and creative process. Every project presents new challenges and I enjoy working with all parts of our business to find creative solutions. The deadlines can sometimes be tough, but it is important to maintain an element of fun and enjoy the journey with your teammates.
3. A tip for someone starting out in the broadcast / tech industry?
My recommendation is to try and involve yourself in all areas of production to gain a great understanding of the process. Ask questions, take every opportunity, stay positive and strap yourself in for the ride.
4. Favourite sport / team / film / tv programme?
I love to watch the gladiatorial battles at the Australian Open Tennis. I am totally exhausted by the end of a 5 setter!
5. What makes great live TV?
Excitement, emotion, drama, and a cracking production team who can capture it all.
1. What is your favourite part / proudest moment at Gravity Media?
Ongoing hiring of ‘right person/best applicant’ for the right job. Our industry is changing, and we are evolving by casting wider nets and recruiting some really great talent into our fold. This is very rewarding, and I love to see the next generation come ahead in leaps and bounds. That and the countless number of flawless projects we deliver day in and day out.
2. What motivates you at work?
Success breeds success but is always underpinned with great planning and execution. Coupled with our success has been the constant growth and diversification of the industry’s needs. Working with a great core team across all our areas of business is the fundamental reason behind our success, so keeping pace with these talented people is the motivation.
3. A tip for someone starting out in the broadcast / tech industry?
Be patient, it takes an eternity to become an overnight success, and your starting point will be nowhere near your finish line. Having tertiary qualifications are great, but your apprenticeship has just begun the day you start your first job, so soak up what you can and enjoy the ride.
4. Favourite sport / team / film / tv programme?
AFL – Carlton Film – Gallipoli TV PGM – at the moment ‘The Weekly’ on ABC
5. What makes great live TV?
Fast-paced content that you cannot get anywhere else, or the best offering of whatever genre you are presenting to the masses. It’s ok to make mistakes on air, just keep going! The modern viewing audience are a fickle bunch, but if you are keeping them entertained, they won’t flick or swipe away.
1. What is your favourite part at Gravity Media?
My proudest but certainly not my favourite period was the way Gravity as a team navigated our way through Covid, it has been a difficult 18 months in which we have had to completely change the way we work and come up with new ways and ideas to get TV to air when it mattered most. There were some incredibly tough times but we never failed to deliver and I strongly believe it has made us all stronger in doing so.
2. What motivates you at work?
My biggest motivator is the team around me, I am extraordinarily lucky to work with a dedicated and talented team of individuals who all bring something different to the table.
3. A tip for someone starting out in the broadcast/ tech industry?
Our industry is very niche to those not privy! It is different, vibrant and fun – there is always something new to learn and the opportunities are endless. My tip is if you want something, don’t give up because if one door closes, there’s always another open and it could be completely different to the path you thought you were heading down. TV has a funny way of doing that.
4. Favourite sport & TV programme?
Being a Melbourne girl, born and breed my favourite sport is most definitely AFL, my career kick started here doing GFX on the AFL for Channel 10 and Fox Footy, I spent many a winter’s afternoons rugged up in the back of an OB truck!
5. What makes great live TV?
Great live TV is produced by a great sporting team and a great production team!
1. What is your favourite part / proudest moment at Gravity Media?
There are so many, but a couple spring to mind, I think working on the BBC’s coverage of The Women’s World Cup in 2019 has to feature pretty highly, there was so much work involved and it all made it to air, seeing your designs on the iplayer loading screens for the first time was strangely rewarding. It’s not a single moment, but I’m really proud of all the work we do for The FA, from rebranding the FA Cup at the height of lockdown, to populating an empty Wembley with 40 extras and 4 camera crews (and a lot of post-production), it’s always been challenging and time consuming, but ultimately very satisfying.
2. What motivates you at work?
Mainly a couple of things, one is a bit of a cliche, simply getting the job done, to the satisfaction of clients and stakeholders whether internal or external. The other is taking a brief, however, detailed (or brief) and creating a look or feel, sometimes from nothing, through to final designs, that make it to air.
3. A tip for someone starting out in the broadcast / tech industry?
Interest in whatever you’re going for really matters, not more than experience, but it can make up for lack of it. When the department looks at CVs or job applications, we’re not looking at grades or which university was attended. We’re predominantly looking at a showreel or example of work, but then it goes to “does this person like sports” if they play any, or state it in their interests, then we’re then more interested in them.
4. Favourite sport / team / film / tv programme?
Sport – Football to watch, Surfing or Running to participate in. Team – Arsenal (to be fair, my interest has waned slightly over the past few years!) Films – too many to list, but Starship Troopers, A Bridge Too Far and Grosse Pointe Blank feature near the very top
5. What makes great live TV?
It has to be event-based, the bigger the better. That’s why the World Cup, The Olympics or even Glastonbury are fantastic. Great coverage adds to the stories/drama/performances, you never feel like you’re there, but with decent production, it can make you feel like you’re not missing anything. In the case of Glastonbury avoiding the long drop toilets, lack of sleep and actually getting to see bands you really want to is definitely more likely from the comfort of your own home.
1. What is your favourite part / proudest moment at Gravity Media?
As a new comer to Gravity Media, the new relationships I am building with my colleagues and team motivate me to work together to achieve greatness!
2. What motivates you at work?
The idea of taking the company to the next level. Finding innovative ways to drive new business and build new client relationships.
3. A tip for someone starting out in the broadcast / tech industry?
Be open minded about what the future holds. There are endless opportunities that can shape ones future. Be curious and try different areas of the business until you find the perfect fit!
4. Favourite sport / team / film / tv programme?
I have two favourite sports-Major League Baseball and NFL football. I am a native Clevelander so my teams are the Indians and the Browns.
5. What makes great live TV?
I have to give credit to the crew. Without the crew, there would not be a show!
1. What is your favourite part / proudest moment at Gravity Media?
The team of people that help me put everything together and make things happen, including the amazing people I get to work with on a daily basis. This is part of the reason why I have been at Gravity Media for so long. I am proud of the client base I’ve built up and nurtured over time and the relationships that come with that.
2. What motivates you at work?
The team I work with and bouncing off each other. Having people come in and share fresh ideas is always a great motivator as well as the collaboration element.
3. A tip for someone starting out in the broadcast/ tech industry?
Say yes to every opportunity that comes your way and try everything. Be interested and excited – technology is exciting and the broadcast industry is at the heart of it. Seize every opportunity, figure it out and accept new challenges and problem-solving.
4. Favourite sport / team / film / tv programme?
I am a fair-weather Arsenal supporter, I grew up in Highbury so they’re a team that I’ve always admired and loved. My favourite film is The Father with Sir Anthony Hopkins.
5. What makes great live TV?
The unexpected.
1. What is your favourite part / proudest moment at Gravity Media?
The way we came together during COVID, without a doubt. It was an incredibly tough period with so many people going through so much. It brought the team a lot closer, and seeing the team respond to so many challenges was incredible. Running 21 OB’s, delivering 32 world feeds over the opening weekend of January 2021 for The FA Cup amongst many other things, when Omicron was at its height, was proof in itself about what this group can do.
2. What motivates you at work?
Seeing talent come through the ranks. We’ve always tried to grow our own staff, which is even more important in the current climate. Many at the company started as runners or other entry level roles, and have progressed to high level roles in production and technology. Promoting people, and seeing the reaction of them to being given that chance, is always the best part of that journey.
3. A tip for someone starting out in the broadcast / tech industry?
Try and stand out a bit from the crowd and back yourself. A lot of what we do is subjective, so try and be creative, be enthusiastic and commit completely to whatever you’re doing.
4. Favourite sport / team / film / tv programme?
Obviously football is my sport, but I’ll watch any sport I can. Being a QPR fan, often means I’d rather watch anything other than football, when I’m watching them. Film wise there’s too many to choose, but if Back to the Future, The Usual Suspects or Goodfellas is on, I’ll watch it again, and again, and again.
5. What makes great live TV?
The right team. You can’t make good TV without the right people. In a live situation, it’s about reacting right to those big moments. Whether it’s a football match, a gig or a light entertainment show – those big moments are what count. If you’ve got the right director and camera op, you’ll have the best angle, same with replay operators, presenters or commentators. It all comes back to the team that’s been picked.
1. What is your favourite part / proudest moment at Gravity Media?
Tough decision but I’d have to split it into two; one part is most certainly upon joining whereby I quickly understood the sheer impressive growth the business has grown into both talent-wise but also in terms of the impressive nature, size of projects & also the wide depth of clients across all parts of the world + TV & Entertainment industries. Delivering the FIFA WC Draw here in Doha is another, delivering five projects for such rewarding clients at such a high-profile event has whet the appetite ahead of the Finals this November.
2. What motivates you at work?
It’s a combination of factors to be honest. First & foremost, the opportunity to be in the heart of delivering high-profile productions alongside highly engaging & knowledgeable people from all over the world who have complementary skills & advice to absorb from is enough to motivate. The variation of projects & locations including the ongoing feasibility of delivering signals as a remote v hybrid v on-site model brings extra motivation to absorb how different productions, sports + people operate which again offers a learned experience. Moving to the Middle-East has challenged me in so many ways that it brings additional motivation to adapt to the local business environment & succeed.
3. A tip for someone starting out in the broadcast / tech industry?
Be yourself, engage with an open mind with everyone you interact with & constantly ask questions absorbing the best learned experiences whilst reflecting on parts you may have done differently. Communication skills can never be under-estimated especially in the global, inter-connected world we live.
4. Favourite sport / team / film / tv programme?
Aston Villa + the PSA (Squash) World Tour take up a part of my free time, for better or for worse!
5. What makes great live TV?
Content that intrigues the mind, that brings you alive + excites you to try or do something different! Future mainstream VR & AR technologies including use within the ‘Metaverse’ will also widen the experiences you can explore that is content or TV-related.
