The two-day event took place on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th of July and saw the NATO Heads of State, government and key partners come together.

Lithuanian event organiser Pirmoji Kava together with Creative Industries and Dimedia commissioned Gravity Media to produce this year’s NATO Summit where a joint talented Gravity Media team from the UK and Germany were on site.

Held in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, the Gravity Media team successfully delivered over 45 edit suites, a crew of 12 camera operators across four studio locations and plus the MCR facilities for all of the studios and unilateral broadcasters.

Gravity Media, the world leading global provider of complex live creative production and media services, is proud to announce the news that they are welcoming further senior talent as Chris Cannon has been brought on board from NEP as the new Director – Operations, EMEA.

Cannon joins the expanding, talented Gravity Media global team of over 500 people to take up the appointed role alongside Managing Director Ed Tischler as a part of the key senior leadership team further bolstering the EMEA market offering.

With over 20 years of experience working in Media & Technology which saw him progress through technical operations roles, into management and leadership roles, building and leading large teams to deliver state of the art technical media solutions – Cannon’s appointment sees him join from NEP where he worked since 2001.

Cannon was first promoted to Head of Vision Engineering in 2014 and then in 2016 into his previous role as NEP’s Director of Technical Operations, He has established himself as a seasoned strategic expert and leader in the industry.

In his role at NEP, he brings experience leading the Operational performance of such key high profile projects including: the royal wedding of William and Catherine as well as the Queen’s funeral broadcast for the BBC. He oversaw UK operations on the Euro’s 2020, Sky Sports Premier League, Champions League, Wimbledon Tournament and the WTA Tennis Tournament. Some of this entertainment highlights include working on high profile reality TV shows such as Love Island and The Circle.

In his new Gravity Media Director – Operations, EMEA role, Cannon will be a strategic leader with accountability for the performance of the business Assets, Logistics, Engineering Operations and Production Management teams across the EMEA regions of the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain and the Middle East.

Cannon’s appointment follows other key Gravity Media talent hires and promotions including Steve Kruger joining as Executive Director – Technology who moved across fresh from ITV Studios, Pete Newton’s role as Executive Director – Media Services & Facilities, and Jamie Brewer’s promotion to Director – Media Services & Facilities

Monday 17th October 2022 – Continuing the recent announcements of Steve Kruger, Pete Newton, Paco Herrero and Jamie Brewer, Gravity Media, the world leading global provider of complex live media facilities and production services, continues to invest in their talented team expansion by announcing the appointment of Poppy Ross as Business Development Manager across EMEA.

Poppy has joined the talented Business Development team headed up by Blair Wood, Gravity Media’s Director of Business Development and will be responsible for developing new partnerships and delivering strategic plans to support business growth across 2023.

Since joining Gravity Media, Poppy has worked closely with the team on delivering Goodwood Revival, the third and final event of the 2022 Goodwood Season. In late September 2022, Gravity Media successfully completed its first year of host broadcast services at Goodwood with an entertaining and action-packed production from the unique Goodwood Revival.

Poppy joins Gravity Media from Box to Box Films where she was a Line Producer and oversaw the development of several high-profile premium feature documentaries which streamed on Apple+, Showtime and Netflix.

Prior to that, Poppy held a Senior Production Manager role at Red Bull Media House based in Salzburg, Austria. As Senior Production Manager, Poppy was responsible for managing all projects on the Red Bull Bike and Board Sports Networks. During her time at Red Bull, Poppy worked across a full slate of commissioned projects with a significant number of projects running simultaneously and alongside multiple Production Partners for both Live and Non-Live programmes.

In addition, Poppy has experience working at Discovery Networks International, the England & Wales Cricket Board, ESPN, and UEFA to name a few.

Poppy brings a wealth of experience with her as a specialist in sports including the commissioning or production of premium long-form features, documentaries, host broadcasts, live outside broadcasts, studio, short-form features, digital, corporate and promos. As well as experience with domestic and international broadcasters, production companies, and federations.

Thursday 06 October 2022 – Following the recent announcement of Steve Kruger and Pete Newton, Gravity Media, the world leading global provider of complex live media facilities and production services, continues the talented team expansion by announcing the promotion of Jamie Brewer to Director – Media Services and Facilities across the EMEA region.

In his new role, Jamie will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of Gravity Media’s Media Services & Facilities functions across EMEA and will be working to drive collaboration across our regional offices. Working closely as part of Gravity Media’s EMEA Senior Leadership Team, accountable for developing long-term operational strategies to meet the company objectives set by the Board.

Jamie will also be working closely with all departments across the business to consistently optimise efficiency, and productivity and overall accountability for the performance, strategy, and development of their functions within Media Services & Facilities. Jamie will focus on Gravity Media’s Post-Production service offering and our Gravity House and Production Centre in Manchester facilities.

Since joining Gravity Media in January 2021 as Head of Broadcast & Post Production Rental, Jamie has built and led the UK rental team across Gravity Media sites, promoting and driving Gravity Media’s pedigree in Equipment Rental & Sales across broadcast and post-production.

Jamie holds over 20 years of experience in technology and media and is a creative and dynamic Business Development and Strategy Management professional. His previous employers include Presteigne Broadcast Hire, Fremantle Media, and Warner Brothers Entertainment and during his career, Jamie has been responsible for the distribution of award-winning feature film and television content across the UK and Europe.

Tuesday 04th October 2022 – The world leading media and broadcast company Gravity Media welcomes Paco Herrero to join as a new Adviser as the company expands into Spain and the Spanish speaking markets.

Paco will be based in Barcelona, as he looks to grow the Gravity Media business and engage clients across Spain, Portugal, South America, and the Middle East.

Paco joins fresh from VAV Group – where he was CEO for over 14 years. A company which specialises in production and post-production services for television, TV Studios & OBs, broadcast engineering and technical consultancy for Europe, Africa and Middle East.

Prior to that he held the role of CEO at MEDIAPRO Middle East, the Dubai / Doha TV production services company – where he was in charge of supporting and developing all business areas in ME including broadcast engineering, TV production services, media consultancy, sports right sales and management.

At MEDIALUSO Lisbon he was Deputy General Manager responsible for all production and operations in Portugal as well as wider international markets development.

He also spent 3 years in the role of CEO working at HELIWESCAM, Alicante, the transmission and filming services company specialising in using gyro stabilized cameras on helicopters.

Paco brings with him a wealth of experience growing strategies and leading start ups. He also has a focus on growing key client relationships focused on the broadcast, media, tech, production, post production and OB sectors.

Tuesday 12 July 2022 Gravity Media, the world leading global provider of complex live broadcast facilities and production services has officially launched its debut multi-functional Outside Broadcast truck, Sirius, based in France.

Sirius is a newly custom-built outside broadcast vehicle which supports 18 cameras, with up to three vision operators, two Replay operators, and an OB supervisor position. It can accommodate 14 staff in high-tech, climate-controlled comfort.

This truck has been designed specifically for the French and European broadcast market, giving customers further benefits from Gravity’s experience in providing the technical equipment, facilities, and services to capture the world’s most watched content.

The OB truck has already been successfully deployed at the ARES Fighting Championship, the International Outdoor Meeting of Athletics and the Archery World Cup.

Furthermore, Sirius adds to Gravity Media’s extensive fleet of mobile units and OB trucks, Mobile Units and DSNG trucks across the UK, Australia, USA, France, Qatar, and Germany. The fleet has been designed and built with a deep understanding of all broadcast environments.

Equipped with the most advanced HD technology available, they are crewed by highly experienced supervisors and engineers who are skilled in supporting a wide range of productions.

Monday 27 June 2022 – The FINA World Aquatics Championships are underway where Gravity Media, the world leading global provider of complex live broadcast facilities and production services are part of the Host Broadcasting team, by providing multiple services including the technical operation centres (TOC) at six of the FINA World Aquatics Championships venues.

This year’s event which is held in Hungaria, Budapest, from Friday 17 June to Sunday 03 July 2022, see Gravity Media being awarded the contract by the host broadcaster, Antenna Hungary, who is one of the major commercial Television and managing the 2022 championships.

The broadcast contract involves installing the facilities at each of the six venues as well as supplying the feed contribution and distribution. In addition to this, Gravity Media is also providing quality control facilities at the International Broadcast Centre (IBC). Gravity is also providing non-linear editing facilities including the streaming, archive, and media management across the whole Championship.
