It’s been a busy month for the Gravity Media broadcast equipment rental teams in the UK and France as they have been supplying numerous pieces of equipment for the recent rugby fixtures in the 2021 Autumn Nations Series 

It all kicked off when France welcomed Georgia for the international Autumn rugby fixture where the Gravity Media team was on site at the Matmut Atlantique Stadium in Bordeaux supplying the RF systems and audio equipment 

The equipment rental team in the UK then supplied three Sony HDC-2500 HD system cameras, one wide angle lens and one standard lens for the Ireland vs New Zealand fixture broadcast on Sky.  

To conclude the 2021 Autumn Nations Series, the team was then on site at the Stade de France where they supplied the RF systems which marked moments in history as France claimed victory!

Ce fut un mois chargé pour les équipes Gravity Media France & Royaume-Uni car elles ont déployé de nombreux équipements pour les récents matchs de rugby de la Tournée d’Automne 2021. 

Tout a commencé lors du match France – Géorgie où l’équipe de Gravity Media était mobilisée sur site, au stade Matmut Atlantique de Bordeaux, pour fournir les systèmes RF et équipement audio de la rencontre. 

L’équipe Gravity Media Royaume-Uni a quant à elle fourni trois caméras Sony HDC-2500 HD, un objectif grand angle et un objectif standard pour le match Irlande – Nouvelle-Zélande, diffusé sur Sky.

The expanding Gravity Media team are proud to welcome Lisa Smith who joins as a new Rental Manager to oversee the regional equipment rental offering.

Lisa’s hire follows on from other important recent Gravity Media team appointments – Jason Tomkins as Post Production Promotion & Development Manager and Fiona Burton as Head of Post Productionto work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Gravity’s Managing Director, EMEA – Ed Tischler.  

With over 21 years of experience in Broadcast Rental, Media Production and Digital Media Lisa will be focused on looking after all client relationships, oversee all creative projects, as well as growing the wide range of new opportunities which Gravity Media can support across the broadcast and post-production markets in the North of England. Lisa will work closely with Jamie Brewer and the wider team to ensure the highest level of client experience. 

Lisa has previously held roles at BBC Sport, MCL Create, Gearbox, Presteigne Broadcast, ES Broadcast, and Procam Take 2.

Some of her career highlights include being responsible for coordinating and managing equipment and crew for the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games, which involved 80 crew at 17 venues and attracted a Worldwide TV audience of 1 billion.

The Gravity Media Equipment Rental team in Germany has recently received a delivery of one stadium lens which is now available to rent.  

The stadium lens has an angle view of 210 degrees and is already a popular option amongst clients including the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation, ORF, who are currently using the lens on their production for Dancing Stars. In addition, the lenses have also been used on the production of the TV series Starmania and Golden Note.

G-Finity called on the Gravity Media UK Equipment Rental team to secure EVS servers and editing suites for the fourth season of F1 ESports events. The Formula 1 ESports Series is a professional esports programme created in 2017 involving the official Formula 1 video game and its gaming community.  

Gravity Media’s Post-Production Engineer Shane McGill was on site where he was responsible for making sure the team remained in first place. Shane looked after two of the edits, making sure the team can use the edits as part of the live show as well any ongoing edits. In addition, Shane looked after the two EVS XT3 ChannelMax servers that were used as part of the production, making sure any requested content was archived and for extra media to facilitate a touchscreen analysis system.

Over the weekend of Saturday 09 October, the Brumath Cross Days event took place in the Alsace region of France.  

The event was organised by UCI Cyclo-Cross where Gravity Media worked with Via Storia to broadcast the event on France 3. The team deployed crew on site who used our broadcast equipment including our production pods and cameras.
