As the broadcast and technology partner, Gravity Media celebrates its 20th year supporting the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.
The 628-nautical-mile race itself reaches a major milestone this year, celebrating its 80th anniversary with a diverse fleet of 132 yachts from across six Australian states and eight countries.
Five 100-foot maxis will likely vie for Line Honours this year: three-time winner Law Connect, which took Line Honours for a second year running and placing second overall last year, Master Lock Comanche, Palm Beach XI, SHK Scallywag and Wild Thing 100, while they will be joined by another 100 footer, cruiser Maritimo 100.
Gravity Media will create and produce the complete telecast with on-water chase boat cameras and live helicopter coverage.
Hosted by legendary sports commentator Gordon Bray, the Rolex Sydney Hobart commentary team will be bolstered by Peter Shipway, a veteran who boasts more than 31 Sydney Hobart Yacht Races; Jimmy Spithill, an America’s Cup and Rolex Sydney Hobart Line Honours winning skipper; and Olympic Silver Medallists, Lisa Darmanin and Olivia Price.

The Aware Super Annual Members’ Meeting is a key yearly event where the super fund presents its financial performance for the past year and outlines its strategic plans and outlook for the future, offering members a chance to learn about investments, retirement, and governance, and to submit questions directly to the leadership team.
This year’s production utilised Gravity Media’s state-of-the-art production centre in Sydney as a central hub.
Gravity Media worked with the super fund to ensure an elevated visual experience for livestream viewers by deploying a 3-camera setup in its HD studio with a dedicated 9m x 2.4m LED wall and state-of-the-art video and audio control rooms.
The team at Aware Super also harnessed several supporting facilities, including make-up room, green room, and private production meeting rooms enabling efficient dress rehearsals and live production.

Gravity Media has been appointed by the VRC and the 9Network to deliver the complex broadcast and technology solutions for the Australian and global television coverage across the four days of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, encompassing Howden Victoria Derby Day, Lexus Melbourne Cup Day, Crown Oaks Day and TAB Champions Stake Day.
This will be Gravity Media’s 24th year in delivering host broadcast requirements for the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Gravity Media will deploy 56 television cameras covering Flemington Racecourse and around the track, in the mounting yard, the stewards’ and jockey rooms, and at the starting barriers.

The annual Koori Knockout, now in its 53rd year, will take place over the October long weekend in New South Wales and will once again bring together teams from across NSW and beyond, with a record 170 teams in 2025.
In collaboration with NITV, Gravity Media will provide the full outside broadcast and technology solution to deliver the live broadcast from Riverside Sporting Complex in Tamworth on Kamilaroi Country, continuing its long partnership covering one of the biggest indigenous gatherings in Australia.
Gravity Media will deploy its HD7 outside broadcast truck, integrating a 10 camera set-up with RF, Super Slow Motion, plus aerial drone coverage. A digital Satellite News Gathering (SNG) truck will carry signals from the regional location back to NITV in Sydney, while hosting and commentary facilities will be supplied on-site.
Coverage will include 16 matches across the final two days, culminating in the prestigious men’s, women’s and junior’s finals on Monday.
The 2024 Koori Knockout drew tens of thousands of attendees, with Walgett Aboriginal Connection defeating Nanima Common Connection in the Men’s Grand Final, fielding NRL stars including Ben Barba, Joel Thompson and Tyrone Peachy.

This 103-year old event sees both the Australian and New Zealander sides competing to secure a wooden casket containing the cigar ashes of the 1923 team captains, with this year’s Soccer Ashes seeing both countries each hosting a home game for the first time in the series’ history.
A key element of Gravity Media’s partnership with Football Australia for the Auckland clash was to provide connectivity between New Zealand and Australia, within a tight timeline, delivered through Gravity Media’s wide-reaching capabilities within the state-of-the-art Production Centre Sydney to enable the VAR services.

MXGP is the premier global motocross series of FIM Motocross World Championship, organised by Infront Moto Racing under sanction of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM).
